Reiki, pronounced “ray-key” is a Japanese word meaning “universal life energy” that is around everything. It is universal divine energy. Reiki affects all levels of the body, mind and spirit. It accelerates the body’s natural ability to heal and opens the mind and spirit to the cause of disease, disharmony and pain.

The current practice of Reiki stems from the rediscovery last century by Dr. Mikau Usui of an ancient hands-on healing method. His research in ancient scriptures and a profound meditation experience combined to give Dr. Usui the information and power he needed to perform hands-on healing and to teach the methods of others.

Reiki Treatment

Reiki is a radiating energy system which channels needed energy from the Universal healing source. This energy can flow through clothes. The ideal treatment is performed in a quiet environment, with gentle music and with the recipient in a comfortable position on a Reiki table or floor mat.

Hands are placed on the body in various positions according to need. The flow and methodical movement result in profound triggering of the relaxation response as well as pain reduction, increased speed of healing in wounds (including surgical incisions), reduced swelling and inflammation in areas of injury. Generally, there is also a positive attitude shift.

The method is effective in a variety of conditions including stress, injury and diseases wholly or partly caused by stress. A recent illness or injury will generally respond quickly, while a chronic or long-term condition may require a much longer course of treatment.

Reiki Classes

The first level of Reiki teaches all that is necessary to enable you to treat yourself and others. A Reiki class is primarily a hands on experience rather than an intellectual learning process.

First Degree Reiki

The First Degree class enables the student to perform Reiki treatments on self and others. Included are four initiation ceremonies, called “attunements” which permanently seal open healing channels with a loving, free-flow of healing energy.

Second Degree Reiki

Those who wish a greater level of commitment to the method may continue to the Second Degree, which allows expanded capacity when working directly on a recipient and permits treatment at a distance. The ancient and sacred symbols are given with Second Degree Reiki. As intuition guides, the power symbol is often given with Reiki I.

This class includes a deeper initiation by the Reiki master for attunements and instructions in the conscious use of the ancient symbols. It is to increase the flow of energy and treatments to reach the subconscious mind and to be able to send energy treatments in a focused way from a distance – called Absentee Reiki.

Only those who wish to make Reiki a major commitment in their lives seek this teacher level. In this class you will learn to teach Reiki I, II and III, give attunements, be qualified to certify other Reiki practitioners.

"I've never done any healing before. Can I do Reiki?"

Absolutely! Reiki is perfect for someone who has never done any kind of healing before. It is a great foundational modality as well as an addition for someone who has a lot of experience. Reiki I is my recommendation for anyone who is wanting to begin their spiritual path or just wanting to make some kind of an energetic shift in their life...to make quick change.

" I want to do Reiki on clients. What do I need to do?"

You need to take both Reiki I and Reiki II. Reiki I teaches you the basics of Reiki and to do Reiki on yourself. Reiki II teaches you to do Reiki on others as well as long distance healing.

"I can't make it to your class. Do you have other times available?"

Yes, in fact most of my classes are private and by appointment. If you can't make a scheduled class, just inquire for a time that works for both of us.
