When asked what he was wearing, Nicholas said, “It’s cold. I’m lounging back and I feel white fur.”
Patty asked Nicholas to look “beneath” the white fur.
Beneath the fur, Nicholas saw red. Red long johns, red coat, red pants and red hat. Nicholas’ story began to unfold. He found himself dressed in red with white fur trim. Then he saw large animals with horns standing side by side.
Moving forward to the next significant event, Nicholas discovered he had been named Santa Claus. He flew in a sleigh to deliver toys to all the boys and girls of the world on one night. Patty then asked him to follow himself to one of the places.
It was wonderful. Children wrote him letters all year long requesting their special gift. In some countries, children hung their socks by the fire. In others, he had to sneak down the chimney so as not to be seen.
At first, Nicholas thought he had uncovered a resource life…
…until he got into the bardo.
It was similar to his homeland ~ cold, icy, desolate in spots.
One at a time Nicholas completed his unfinished business, little bits of soul he had left here and there, healing frostbitten body parts and the like.
But the most emotional part was when he had to confront his eight reindeer. Poor Santa. He was full of remorse. He turned to each of his reindeer and said…
“I’m sorry for sleighing you.”
Maybe that’s why he goes overboard on Christmas.
Have a very Merry Christmas!
